Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th August, 1956 at Woodland Hills, California, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father taught school as her mother remained at the house. Michael, Dennis, Kevin as well as her sister are all older. McCormick was a gifted performer and dancer at a young age. She was a puppeteer who would present shows to children from her neighbourhood. When she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of six, Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency called her asking if McCormick wanted to get into the showbiz. Her first major role came in 1964 when she appeared in an advertisement for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp." Another commercial for Mattel was filmed in 1964 to promote the "Chatty-Cathy" doll. Soon after, McCormick was chosen as the main character in The Brady Bunch: Wind It up and It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from a field of 1,200 children who auditioned to play the youngest of three daughters in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds and a blended family. It lasted five years. McCormick admitted in her story: Resurrected Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that it was in her fifth-season of the TV show when she almost lost virginity. In 2008, she revealed in her book, Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five of the show she nearly lost her virginity to Barry Williams. "It was predicted to occur," said the woman, "but it never happened just at the right moment for us."
